A MESSAGE FROM CAMPERS

Hi David,

We just wanted to reach out 24 hours after our HOT SHOTS experience, and thank you and all of the instructors again for such a high energy and productive weekend at the K-W Granite Camp!  We learned a ton, made some new friends, and had a lot of laughs along the way!

We have always found the curling community to be a very special community.  Wherever we go, whether it be a Club Bonspiel, or a national championship like the Brier, Scotties, or Olympic Trials, the curling community extends a welcome hand, a friendly smile, and a willingness to mentor, always with perspective and humour.  HOT SHOTS was no exception.  From the time we registered, to the time we parted ways, we felt that wonderful “curling vibe” from everyone.  Whether on-ice instruction or off-ice classroom sessions, the analytical and communications skills of the instructors were off the charts.  This, in turn, generated some high-level discussions, as every camper contributed to enhancing their own performance and the performance of their peers.

Curling is unique in the world of elite sports as recreational and club curlers have always been able to share space with the best curlers the planet. Elite curlers are more than generous with their time and talents, and are terrific ambassadors for the game.  Relationship building is such an important attribute of the curling community, as exemplified in exceedingly good sportsmanship on the ice, and genuine fellowship off the ice.  Curlers are also a versatile lot, as exemplified by the outstanding music provided by Brian and Codey on Saturday night!  They did this at the end of a long day, and I have to say, it took our off-ice socializing, and memories, to the next level!

All in all, being at HOT SHOTS Curling Camp was like being “home”.  We feel privileged and proud to be part of the HOT SHOTS family.
