Winter Olympic Games Champion Eve Muirhead of Perth, Scotland will headline the instructor team at the World Curling ADULT CAMP in Tallinn, Estonia from December 6-8, 2024.
“I am extremely excited to announce that Eve Muirhead will be joining our family of world-class instructors as we stage our first-ever World Curling ADULT CAMP,” said David Gravelle, Camp Director of the HOT SHOTS Curling Camps. “I’ve always been a huge fan of Eve. She was a fierce competitor on the ice and is now a fantastic ambassador for our sport. I look forward to working with her as an instructor in Estonia, and at future camps.”
“I’m very passionate about helping improve, helping develop the sport,” said Muirhead. “To get a chance to do a bit of coaching and passing on my experiences is something that I’m really excited to do. I think it’s important that we get former athletes to pass on their knowledge to keen, upcoming adults.”
Eve retired from competitive curling in 2022 as the reigning Olympic, European, and World Mixed Doubles Champion. She is now a television curling commentator, coach, brand spokesperson, and works with the British Olympic Committee (Team GB).
The two-time Olympic medalist (Gold in Beijing, China in 2022. Bronze in 2014 in Sochi, Russia) is one of the most decorated curlers in the world. She has competed at nine World Women’s Championships, 13 European Championships, four Olympic Games, and has four Grand Slam of Curling victories.
The HOT SHOTS Curling Camp has linked over 3800 recreational curlers with elite players and international coaches and instructors for the past 29 years. The camp curriculum covers all aspects of the sport from balance, delivery, release, and rock rotation, to classroom sessions focused on team communication, team dynamics, and strategy.
“I really enjoy answering lots of questions,” explained Eve. “I can always relate to experiences I have had within my career, and pass that on.
“I am very excited to join the team. I’ve heard lots of great things about the HOT SHOTS Curling Camp. I know World Curling is very good at pushing the sport, promoting the sport, evolving the sport, and it’s great to be part of that.”
The World Curling ADULT CAMP will be held during Christmas Market season in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia from December 6-8, 2024. The camp is limited to 48 registrants.
